Every house needs a solid foundation.
Standards for unique object identification are essential for building the Internet of Things (IoT). The German Association of the Automobile Industry (VDA)/ AutoID Project Group has developed a set of cross-company guidelines that includes the Tracking & Tracing of vehicles, parts and returnable transport items (RTI). The guidelines are based on latest ISO/IEC standards and are suitable for industry-wide application within the automotive industry - this includes RFID AND optical methods such as Barcode/DataMatrix for object identification:
- VDA 5500 - Basic Principles
- VDA 5501 - Returnable Transport Items (RTI)
- VDA 5509 - Prototype Parts
- VDA 5510 - Series Production Parts
- VDA 5520 - Vehicles
- VDA 5530 - Automotive Business Vocabulary (ABV)
